Trendentum shows factual information computed by fixed, published rules. Nothing here is a recommendation or an opinion about any financial product.
Institutional-grade research, for those of us never taught this.
Trendentum is for investors in Benjamin Graham’s sense of the word: “An investment operation is one which, upon thorough analysis, promises safety of principal and an adequate return. Operations not meeting these requirements are speculative.” (Graham and Dodd, Security Analysis, 1934). It is built to help with that analysis — the business first, its record and its price second, the principles of investors whose work has lasted decades throughout — and to teach it, one stock you own at a time.
It also accepts that most investors want a small part in riskier bets. Holdings can be marked Speculation, with a ceiling you set yourself, so that part stays small and separate from the rest.
It is not for day trading. Everything is read from finished trading days, once a day; there are no live prices, no intraday charts and no buy or sell calls.
Trendentum is built by Sam Lau, a self-taught investor with holdings across the US, Australian and London markets, working with an AI pair-programmer. It started as a tool for one person’s own decisions and grew into something worth sharing, on one condition that has never changed: it explains, it never advises.
Most research tools hand you a score and ask you to trust it. Here every outlook is a handful of named rules with named thresholds, a vote count, and a sentence for each vote saying what it saw. The rules are published in full on How the signals are computed, and an automated test fails the build if that page and the code ever disagree. Where the app does not know something — a stock code the data provider cannot price, a cost basis that looks a hundred times too small — it says so, instead of showing a plausible number.
Trendentum is not a financial adviser and does not provide personal financial advice. It is one input for your own judgment, built for people who want to understand the why before they act on the what.
