Privacy
Version of 5 October 2026. This describes what the site actually does today, and it is kept in step with the site: when we add a service that touches your data, this page changes the same day.
Who holds it
The entity responsible for the information described here is Trendentum Pty Ltd (ACN 702 565 071, ABN 17 702 565 071), an Australian company trading as Trendentum. “We” below means that company. Privacy questions, and requests to see, correct, export or delete what we hold: support@trendentum.com.
What we hold about you
- Account: your email address, the name you give, and a one-way hash of your password. We cannot read your password.
- Portfolio: the stocks you hold or watch, quantities and average costs you enter, and your watchlist names. We never see your broker credentials, and there is no live link to your broker.
- Contract notes you forward: if you use Forward contract notes on the Holdings page, you forward your broker’s contract-note emails to a private address that belongs to your account. Each email is read once to pull out the trade — stock code, number of shares, price, date and brokerage — which is kept as a proposed parcel until you accept or dismiss it. The email and any PDF are then discarded: we do not keep the document, your broker account number, or your name and address as printed on it. We keep a count of notes received, the sender’s domain and whether each could be read, so we can tell you when the forwarding has gone quiet. The address is yours to change at any time, and anyone who had the old one can no longer reach your account.
- Shared watchlists: if you choose to share a watchlist, anyone with its link sees the list’s name and its stock codes with their current outlooks — never your holdings, prices, quantities, name or email. Sharing is off by default, per list, and stopping it kills the link immediately.
- Signals and research we computed for your symbols, kept as history so you can see what changed.
- Billing: if you subscribe to Pro, a Stripe customer reference, which plan you are on, whether it is active, and when it renews. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us.
- Phone alerts: if you turn them on, the push subscription your browser gives us. It identifies the browser on that device, not you, and is deleted when you turn alerts off.
- Activity days: which days you opened the dashboard, imported a holding, or copied your rule grid — a count per day, nothing finer, no record of what you looked at.
- Complimentary access: a record of accounts we have given Pro to without charge, so the gates stay open for them.
What we do not hold
- No IP addresses are stored. No user-agent strings are stored. No advertising or third-party analytics scripts run on any page. No cookies are set on trendentum.com; your login token lives in your own browser’s storage and is sent only to our API. Stripe’s checkout and billing pages are Stripe’s own and set Stripe’s cookies; Stripe’s privacy policy covers those pages.
- Public pages count how many times they were opened and how many times a link preview was fetched, per day and per stock — as totals. A known crawler is counted separately as a crawler. Nothing in those counts identifies a person.
- We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.
Who processes it for us
- Railway hosts the API and the database. Vercel serves the pages. Backblaze stores an encrypted copy of the database each day, so a failure at Railway cannot lose your portfolio; the key to read it never leaves us.
- Twelve Data, Yahoo Finance and Alpaca supply prices; requests to them carry stock codes only, never your identity.
- SEC EDGAR supplies public filings.
- Anthropic generates deep-dive summaries from public company facts when you ask for one; your holdings and identity are not part of that request.
- Stripe takes payments and runs the billing page. Stripe holds your name, email, card and billing address for that purpose under its own policy.
- Resend delivers our emails: password resets, the weekly digest, alerts, billing confirmations and renewal reminders. It also receives the contract notes you forward and holds each one briefly until we have read the trade out of it, under Resend’s privacy policy.
Your choices
- You can remove any holding or watchlist item at any time, and it is gone from your portfolio immediately.
- To delete your account and everything attached to it, open Account settings (your name in the header) and choose Delete my account at the foot of the page; your password is the confirmation and an email confirms it is done. Any Trendentum Pro subscription is cancelled at the same time. If you cannot log in, email support@trendentum.com from the address you signed up with.
- A deleted account is gone from the live database immediately and from the encrypted backups within 30 days, as they roll off.
- To take a copy of your data first, the same page has Export holdings (CSV) and Export watchlist (CSV) under Your data - plain files of what you entered, nothing else.
- You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, the same way.
- Every email we send has an off switch on the Account page; password resets and renewal reminders are the only ones you cannot turn off while you have the account or the subscription they are about.
If something goes wrong
If we learn of a breach of your data that is likely to cause you serious harm, we tell you what happened and what to do as soon as we know, without waiting to be asked.
Where you are
Trendentum Pty Ltd is an Australian company and the site is operated from Australia; your data is stored in the regions Railway and Backblaze use for us. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles as our standard. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the basis on which we hold your data is the account you opened with us and our legitimate interest in running the service as described here; you have the rights to see, correct, export, delete and object described above, and you can exercise them by email. Your data comes to Australia to be processed, which is why this page says exactly what is held and by whom.
